Ruth reminded me that I forgot to include the lovely chamber music concert in a small concert hall in the middle of Vienna. The concert was really very nice. The chamber orchestra consisted of 10 musicians: a lead violinist playing a stradavari, a clarinet, an oboe, two second violins, a bass, a cello, a piano, a viola, and a flute. In addition, there were two ballet dancers, and a soprano and a tenor singer. The two dancers were amusing, but not terribly good. The tenor was excellent, the soprano OK.
The orchestra led off with several very nice Mozart pieces, followed by a brief intermission, and then several wonderful pieces by Strauss.
All in all, the concert was a lovely event.
